What you should keep in mind now:
Once approval has been granted, the practical implementation of your research project can begin. To ensure that everything runs smoothly, we provide you with all the necessary information and documents – from fund requests to proof of use.
Basic document: Funding agreement and payment schedule
The Grant Approval Documents contain important information on how to proceed during the funding period – for example, on the disbursement of funds, the start of the project, proof of use or an extension of the term.
Please note: Your project-specific disbursement plan is provided with the grant approval letter.

FAQ – Funding Phase
Please read your Grant Approval Letter carefully and check whether the grant is subject to the submission of certain documents (e.g. ethics approval, animal testing permit, etc.). Please also note the grant agreement that was sent to you with the Approval Letter. We also ask you to return the completed payment schedule to us.
If you have received approval for a staff funding, please submit a valid employment contract to us within 6 months – in case of delays, the foundation must be informed in writing in advance. Once you have submitted all the necessary documents, you will receive an official email from us regarding the start of the project with all the relevant information for the implementation of your project. The funding project begins when the (first) staff position is filled.
In the event of rejection, we will be happy to discuss the matter with you and, within the scope of our possibilities, go through the reasons for the rejection with you. All relevant points will be communicated to you in the decision letter. Please understand that we cannot provide complete expert opinions or further information on the content.
However, did you know that under certain conditions you have the option of submitting a revised application?
You can also submit a new application at any time, and we will be happy to assist you with this.
In this case, the project starts with the first disbursement of funds. This is determined by the information you provide in the disbursement plan.
Please contact us in good time. We may be able to help you with a reallocation (cost-neutral redistribution of funds already applied for). For example, higher personnel costs could be offset by consumables that are still available.
Please contact us in good time. In exceptional cases, a grant project may be extended on a cost-neutral basis for understandable reasons.
The final report serves to conclude your research project and should be uploaded to the online portal using the appropriate form no later than six months after the end of the project. The final report will be forwarded to a medical member of the Scientific Board for final assessment, together with the publications resulting from the funded project. The decision on whether or not to approve the report will be communicated by email.
